Two Keller engineers have successfully completed their apprenticeships after four years of hard work.

Dominic Ward, 22 and Jack Price, 21 are now fully qualified mechatronics engineers after joining Keller on leaving school and attending a mechatronics course at Midland Group Training Services, Coventry.
Mechatronics is a combination of mechanical and electrical engineering with both Jack and Dominic gaining a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering.
Additionally, Dominic has also passed his Level 4 BTEC, Higher National Certificate and Keller are sponsoring him to go on and do his Higher National Diploma.
The pair spent a year full-time at MGTS and then the next three years were a mixture of practical hands-on learning in Keller’s workshop and attending college. Now they are both looking forward to gaining more experience and learning about more of the rigs Keller operate.
“It was a very hands-on experience,” said Dominic. “It’s good to learn on the job rather than sitting in a classroom all the time.
“We’ve been involved in fixing breakdowns to converting machine for different types of jobs. It’s good because you don’t do the same things two days in a row,” said Jack.
Brian Kellaher, Plant Manager at Keller, said: “Well done to Jack and Dominic. They are excellent additions to our team. It’s great to see them come through the ranks and complete their apprenticeship.”
